Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is grounded in an appreciation for interactive teaching, critical learning and thinking, and academic excellence. The overall objectives of my HR related courses are:
- to provide the students with the tools to analyse problems associated with managing people;
- to show how a systematic analysis of such problems can lead to better and more practical insights into strategic and organisational developments;and
- to inspire the participants to develop their own strategic solutions in order to manage human resources effectively.
In all of my courses, I encourage students to become critical readers and original thinkers as well as systematic analysts and effective managers by employing various methods such as experiential exercises, videos, role plays, simulations, experiments, panel discussions with presentations and discussants, and team work. By making students an integral part of the lecture or class, I further the development of interest in the subject matter as well as of an own opinion.
